Senior Sales Representative

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Senior Sales Representative maintains, grows and expand relationships with a broad range of customers in the Aerospace & Defense Segment.  The SSR is responsible for growing sales, achieving sales quotas and developing and achieving account objectives, account rationalization and channel management.

 

The Sr. Sales Rep.’s mission is to drive sales by prospecting for new projects and customers in the aerospace and defense industries.  They build strong formal and informal networks and identify and seize new opportunities. Able to effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small, large groups, trade show and conferences or among diverse styles and position levels. They should carefully consider all relevant factors and use sound decision-making criteria and principles.

 

 

College degree or equivalent business experience preferred.

3 to 5 years sales or technical sales/engineering experience in the aerospace and defense industries is preferred

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • The SSR represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers and prospective customers.  They will ensure that the customer needs and expectations are met.
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer and prospective accounts.  Calls on prospective and current customers to sell current and new products.
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel and management resources to meet account performance objectives and customer's expectations.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities at customer’s location for additional Orscheln growth.
  • Communicates and interfaces with the customer’s organizations on matters concerning but not limited to contracts, pricing and future business opportunities.
  • Works with Engineers to achieve account objectives.
  • Fully understand the account's current and future needs.
  • Create strategy and business plans to manage and ensure realization of sales for the assigned accounts.
  • Meets assigned goals for profitable sales and sales quotas in designated accounts.
  • Keeps records and makes reports on all phases of activities.
  • Analyzes competitive activity.
  • Meets assigned expectations for profitability.  Reviews and manages contribution margins.
  • Develops and completes account plans that meets company objectives.
  • Maintains high customer satisfactions ratings that meet company standards.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
  • Attend trade shows and participates in industry events.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS:

 

  • Technical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems and structures principally for the Aerospace & Defense markets.
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Must be successful at negotiations, phone sales, virtual meetings.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and work well in a team environment.
  • Self starter.  Ability to think outside the box, vision oriented, entrepreneurial solution driven.
  • Motivation for sales.
  • Solid knowledge of business development/planning and financial budgeting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Data entry & analysis
  • 80% of the time sitting.
  • Some bending/stooping
  • Lifting to 50lbs
  • Climate controlled environment
  • This position requires travel by car and air, domestically and internationally as needed to participate in off-site meetings, customer visits & training and attend trade shows and conferences.
