ABOUT THIS POSITION

Has the authority to direct and administer the study, analysis and evaluation of current and projected computer-based application systems and procedures. Analyzes business problems for resolution through electronic data processing. Gathers information from users, defines work problems, and, if feasible, designs a system of computer programs and procedures to resolve the problems. Develops complete specifications to enable computer programmers to prepare required programs: analyzes subject-matter operations to be automated; specifies number and types of records, files, and documents to be used and outputs to be produced; prepares work diagrams and data flow charts; coordinates tests of the system and participates in trial runs of new and revised systems; and recommends computer equipment changes to obtain more effective operations. Recognizes and implements more effective applications systems through creativity and ingenuity. Directs and administers the design, implementation and maintenance of revised or new systems. Participates in the development of departmental standards and procedures.

Bachelors degree in computer-related field or equivalent experience and 5+ years of practical experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• System Analyst
  • Creatively conceptualize methods of improving users’ efficiency.
  • Collaborate with staff and users to continually develop or modify applications and systems to keep up with changing needs of the company.
  • Assist users with problems and questions regarding existing systems.
  • Maintain rapport with users, management, vendors and customers in order to meet the needs of everyone involved.
  • Latitude in decision-making is limited to the extent that the users needs are satisfied.

• Programmer/Analyst
  • Provide assistance to end-users of the information systems.
  • Install and maintain various Bar Code Label application packages.
  • Develop, install and maintain customer labeling requirements.
  • Provide training for end-users on the operation of label systems.
  • Database programming in Oracle PL/SQL and MS/SQL.
  • Application programming using Visual Studio, Java Script and other web tools.
  • Troubleshooting Excel spreadsheets.
  • Report writing using Crystal Reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS:
