ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Manufacturing Engineer shall coordinate design, development, quoting, specifications, drawings, vendor activity, installation, and support of equipment and processes for manufacture of Orscheln products. Autonomy of activity is a function of experience, demonstrated ability and grade level.

Preferred Education:
BSME, BSIE or two (2) year technical degree.

Preferred Work Experience: 
Minimum three (3) years work experience in engineering support field.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop tooling, capital equipment, gauge and fixturing requirements for new products.
  • Develop manufacturing routings.
  • Execute typical administrative procedures (i.e.: stock requisitions, RFQ’s, ECR’s, ECN’s).
  • Review production capacity
  • Define process capability through measurement, verification, process studies, documentation and statistical methods.
  • Support continuous improvement team activities.
  • Manage the areas of Orscheln business as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot tool, equipment and process issues
  • Develop and implement error proofing
  • Assist with operator training as required
  • Develop job instruction sheets
  • MRB Authority/Disposition

QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of mfg processes
  • Design/Develop tooling 2nd processes
  • Office equipment
  • Communication skills both verbal and written
  • Computer skills
  • Time management
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Data entry
  • 80% of the time sitting
  • Lifting no more than 35lbs
  • Climate controlled environment
